Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

World Book Day 2021

WORLD BOOK DAY
Thursday 4th March 2021
Next week it's World Book Day and we would like to celebrate the children's love of books, whether they are learning at home or in school.
On Monday 1st March, I am going to upload a Sway with lots of ideas and links for the children to take part in at home.  If Thursday is difficult for you due to your own working arrangements, I am uploading it at the beginning of the week so you can decide which day would work best for your family.
Children who are in school on Thursday 4th March will be completing World Book Day activities in the afternoon. They are more than welcome to dress up as a book character if they want to, or just come in non uniform.  If children at home would like to dress up and take a photo to send to me, that would be great.  Please don't go to any extra expense or if your child doesn't want to dress up, it really doesn't matter.  There will be lots of ideas on the Sway for your child to get involved.

I am looking to get a selection of photos of children reading in unusual places, curled up with a torch or just caught engrossed in reading.  Over the next week, please can you message me with a photo of your child reading so I can put them together in time for World Book Day.

In summary:
  • Sway uploaded on Monday 1st with ideas
  • Photos of children caught reading to send to Mrs Cork
  • Children in school can dress up on Thursday 4th or come in non-uniform if they prefer
Any questions, please ask.
Mrs Cork
