Weekly Newsletter 12.12.2025

We’ve had a lovely week in school, and it’s great to see attendance has much improved, thank you for your support. It is lovely to see the children bouncing back and showing much energy and enthusiasm for learning.

Early Years have enjoyed exploring “Who Lives Next Door at No. 4? It’s a Bradford Mystery!” and have shown fantastic curiosity. We were also delighted to welcome the Beckfoot Brass Band, who put on a brilliant musical visit.

Our Christmas nativities have begun, with Year 1 and Year 2 giving absolutely fantastic performances. A huge thank you to our staff and children for making these such wonderful memories. We also want to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Tinsley’s mum, Sam, for creating such beautiful costumes for this years’ performances.

Our current whole school attendance year to date stands at 93%, with our target being 97%. We appreciate everyone’s efforts in keeping this moving in the right direction and supporting good routines during this busy time of year.

Early Years

Reception have been using the part, part whole model to add and subtract.

Year 1

Year 1 have been taking away from 20 using the make ten method and cubes and ten frames.

Year 2

Year 2 have been getting into the festive spirit and creating colourful Christmas collages in Art.

Year 3

Year 3 were working as a team to put a sequence together in gymnastics.

Year 4

Year 4 had a fantastic art lesson with Mr Watson where they used their understanding of tone to create a 3D drawing.

Year 5

Year 5 have been looking at New Zealand, and more recently the geothermal activity that New Zealand experiences. We created information posters to educate people about volcanoes, geysers and earthquakes (and how buildings can be built to withstand earthquakes).

Year 6

Year 6 had an amazing time at Robinwood.  From canoeing to rock climbing, caving to zip lining they all got stuck in and gave it their all.  Lots of staff commented on what a lovely, polite group of children they are so we are doubly proud of them.

We use a range of Learning Apps in school, which can also be accessed at home. Please use the links below to practice key skills.

Times Table Rockstars is an award-winning maths learning platform where children can practice their times tables like a rock star! Certificates can be achieved every Thursday for the children who have made the most progress in terms of the biggest increase in accuracy that week. We also run in school competitions.

Accelerated Reader will allow children to read a book and then take an online quiz to test their knowledge and understanding of the text, and receive immediate feedback. Students respond to regular feedback and are motivated to improve their reading skills.

Pride Beyond School

Well done Leon!

On Sunday Leon had his grading at his taekwondo class and did really well. He gained his Yellow belt (8th Kup) and was so proud of himself.

Well done Aarushi!

Aarushi would like to share some of her recent achievements to be included in the school newsletter. She had the opportunity to perform during the Bingley Christmas Light Switch-On event as part of the Articulate Drama School (photo attached).
