This week has been a little quieter in school, although there has still been lots of great learning taking place across the school. A huge well done to our Year 1 children for completing their Phonics Screening Check and to our Year 4 children for taking part in the Multiplication Tables Check. We are incredibly proud of them all for trying their very best and showing such a positive attitude.
The recent wet weather has meant we had to rearrange both Sports Days. Our whole-school Sports Day will now take place on Monday 13th July, and our Early Years Sports Day has been rescheduled for Tuesday 16th June.
However, we finished the week on a high as we welcomed Bupa Dental Care, who shared their new book, The Dentist Apprentice. Our Early Years, Year 1 and Year 2 children loved the story and were thrilled to sit in the famous fluffy chair from the book – a fun way to learn about healthy teeth and enjoy a great story!
We have also added diary dates right through to the end of the school year, so please keep an eye on the upcoming events, including our annual Fun Day. This year’s theme is “Carnival” and we can’t wait for a fun-filled day of colour, music and celebration!
And finally, we hope our Year 6 pupils have a fabulous prom and make wonderful memories together tonight!

Accelerated Reader will allow children to read a book and then take an online quiz to test their knowledge and understanding of the text, and receive immediate feedback. Students respond to regular feedback and are motivated to improve their reading skills.
Spelling Shed uses the science of spelling to teach it to pupils. Using phonics as a base and drawing upon proven approaches such as teaching morphology, etymology, and orthographic mapping, as well as teaching spelling patterns. Children are set new activities on here each week.
