Welcome to Year 2
Our Year 2 pupils enjoy learning more about the world we live in. The Year 2 curriculum covers a range of topics including Powerful Voices, the Romans, and Astronomy. We explore different parts of our world, including each of our 7 continents, the British Isles, and Northern Europe. Our learning is driven by a range of high-quality texts, such as Varmints, and texts by key children’s authors. The children are given opportunities to write in a variety of different styles, using their own creative ideas. The children’s creativity stands out in our Design Technology lessons, having the opportunity to create puppets, as well as our own moving monsters! Our Year 2 pupils get the opportunity to showcase their developing imaginative talents with a nativity performance in the last few weeks of the Autumn term.
