Early Years
Early Years have been sorting 2d and 3d shapes and creating and continuing patterns in Maths.

Year 1
Year 1 have started a new art topic looking at creating structures and 3D pictures with paper. We rolled the paper into cylinders, experimented with colours, patterns, size and length of the tubes and used different joining methods to our base.

Year 2
Year 2 have been looking at creating textures in art. We used different materials to recreate texture from pictures.

Year 3
In DT, Year 3 have been designing their castles that they will build as a structure out of cardboard next week.

Year 4
In Year 4 we have been learning about an important part of British History when King Charles was arrested and beheaded for Treason.

Year 5
Year 5 have started their new science topic which looks at living things and their habitats. The children recalled their prior knowledge around the life cycles of a butterfly and a frog and we looked at the scientific vocabulary associated with this topic. We then looked at the life cycles of an oak tree and a squirrel; learning more about how the life cycles of many plants and animals on earth are interconnected.

Year 6
Year 6 have begun their next science topic on the human body. We firstly needed to understand a bit about the respiratory system and why/how we breath before tackling our main goal of the lesson of understanding how the circulatory system works. We sketched, coloured then annotated the human heart before writing how the circulatory system works.
Important learning information
We use a range of Learning Apps in school, which can also be accessed at home. Please use the links below to practice key skills.
Times Table Rockstars is an award-winning maths learning platform where children can practice their times tables like a rock star! Certificates can be achieved every Thursday for the children who have made the most progress in terms of the biggest increase in accuracy that week. We also run in school competitions.

Accelerated Reader will allow children to read a book and then take an online quiz to test their knowledge and understanding of the text, and receive immediate feedback. Students respond to regular feedback and are motivated to improve their reading skills.
Spelling Shed uses the science of spelling to teach it to pupils. Using phonics as a base and drawing upon proven approaches such as teaching morphology, etymology, and orthographic mapping, as well as teaching spelling patterns. Children are set new activities on here each week.
