We were pleased to welcome Anna Dixon MP to school on the last day of half term. As we are one of a few schools selected to run a Free Breakfast Club as part of the governments Plan for Change, she wanted to visit us and see how it working for our families. Here is a lovely photo of her together with Mrs Gunning and Mrs Cutting.

Early Years

Early Years released our butterflies this week.

Year 1

Year 1 concluded their learning in science all about Materials and Magnets by conducting an experiment. We used four different materials to test whether or not they were waterproof and would make a good umbrella for the bear. Our predictions were correct and the results showed that cling film or foil would work best.

Year 2

Year 2 have been looking at how plants can be grown for food in science.

Year 3

Year 3 have started to write a persuasive text. Would you be persuaded to buy a dog?

Year 4

This week in English, we have been writing about our own inventions known as the Teacher Pleaser. Miss Cooper would like to invest!

Year 5

This week I want to say how well Year 5 are doing at swimming.  We have two groups at different levels and the progress in each group has been amazing.  Mrs Gunning came with us this week and she commented on the bravery and dedication shown by all.  Group 1 have taken the plunge,, swimming a short distance either with reduced flotation devices or NONE at all!.  Group 2 have started learning their survival skills, treading water for a prolonged time, shouting for help and distance swimming. Well done to all.

Year 6

Year 6 participated in the Brownlee Triathlon Event at Bradford Grammar School on Tuesday. They all did brilliantly well, running, cycling and swimming the distances.
