Weekly Newsletter 27.02.2026

It’s been a busy and positive first week back, with great attendance. It has been wonderful to see the children back in class, settled and ready to learn!

Year 5 have begun their swimming lessons and have made a fantastic start in the pool. Our Early Years children enjoyed a visit from Bupa Dental Care in Bingley and a Mr Peck, one of our parents who is a train driver as part of their “People Who Help Us” topic. We’ve also launched our new lunch menu, which has been well received, and pupils took part in a special assembly on Wednesday led by Chris Kemp from All Together Now Choir, filled with uplifting singing.

Next week is set to be even busier, and we have lots of exciting events and activities planned for the rest of the half term. Please keep up to date via Class Dojo for the latest news and event information and remember to follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Early Years

Early Years have been learning about people who help us. We had a visit from a dentist and dental nurse.

Year 1

Year 1 have enjoyed making moving pictures this week in DT.

Year 2

Year 2 have had a busy and creative week! We crash-landed into an alien classroom, designed our own puppets and practised our addition skills. In art, we explored sketching techniques, experimenting with different mediums, pressure and tone.

Year 3

Year 3 were experimenting with the north and south poles of their magnets.

Year 4

In computing , we learnt about bots and how they have their advantages and disadvantages. We then designed our own bots that we felt would benefit our class, whilst still acknowledging the potential risks that could arise.

Year 5

Year 5 have begun their new DT topic of structure. Lesson 1 was to think about how we could make a structure that is self supporting, and then to use problem solving skills to rectify any issues e.g. leaning/collapsing.

Year 6

In art, Year 6 have been learning about street art/graffiti.  We have looked at lots of different examples and discussed the messages and meaning behind these pieces.  We have even discussed if we agree that they should be classed as art!  This week we finished out own examples of street art, conveying messages that the children felt most strongly about.
