What a fantastic time we had celebrating World Book Day! 📚✨

The children looked amazing in their brilliant costumes and cosy pyjamas, and it was wonderful to see so many families join us. A big thank you to everyone who was able to come along, read with their child, and enjoy our Reading Cafe together. Throughout the day the children took part in a range of activities all centred around our message: “Read Your Way.”

It has also been a great week too enjoying the spring weather and outdoors. Our Early Years and Year 1 children loved taking part in Bikeability across 3 days this week building their confidence and skills on two wheels. We also had lots of laughs with the Mellors Smoothie Bike – which our Catering Champions were able to experience with some of their friends! Check out our social media page for more photos… and a chance to vote in our TEACHER BEST DRESSED COMPETITION!

Thank you to everyone who helped make the week so special for our children.

Early Years

Early Years have been learning about the roles of doctors and nurses this week. We had a visit from Anne-marie a District Nurse.

Year 1

Year 1 have enjoyed bikeability in the sun this week!

Year 2

Year 2 have been busy exploring different strategies for adding and subtracting two numbers. In geography, we learned more about Scotland and were surprised to discover just how many islands it has (and that there are no palm trees!). We were especially fascinated by the Loch Ness Monster, which sparked lots of interesting discussions and questions.

Year 3

Year 3 have been doing different sequences in gymnastics!

Year 4

In Science this week, we learnt about some vitamins and minerals that are essential for our bodies to run healthily and effectively.

Year 5

Year 5 enjoyed reading with their buddies in Year 1.

Year 6

Year 6 had a fabulous day this week on World Book Day.  We shared our costumes/books and listened to an assembly based all about why reading for pleasure is so important and that reading is not just about school.  We designed our won book covers about our favourite genres and then went up to reception to read to our reading buddies.  Finally, we visited the school library to spend some time having a look at sections we would otherwise not have thought of.

Pride Beyond School

Well done Liyana

We are delighted to inform everyone that Liyana has won the Eid Card competition. Her design has been selected to be used for the Chief Executive of Bradford Council’s Office, which is a fantastic achievement!
