Nursery Admissions

We maintain a waiting list for admission to our Nursery.  We admit children to Nursery over the year; the term after your child turns 3.  We currently operate morning nursery places only, we would consider 30 hour placements dependent on the need of the cohort.

 

Children attending our nursery are not guaranteed a place into reception class.  A separate application must be made to the local authority who are responsible for allocating places at our school. We welcome visits from interested parents and families at any point throughout the year.

Arrangements for children starting school

Beckfoot Priestthorpe Primary School is a community school; we admit up to 30 children into reception every September.  We only have one intake each year, so children usually start school full time in the September of the year they turn five.

Each year, all new reception parents are invited to a welcome meeting where relevant information is shared about our school. Visits from parents in other year groups considering a transfer to the school can be made at any time by contacting the school.

 

Feeder School for Beckfoot Secondary

We are now a feeder school; this means that if your child attends our school in Year 5, when their secondary applications are processed, then they will be allocated a place at Beckfoot School if it is the first choice on their application. This is not affected by where your child lives.

 

Spaces in other year groups

We currently have places available in other year groups across our school.
